The Wisdom of Uncle Ted

I admit it. I am not a big fan of Ted Nugent's music. I do not agree with everything he says, nor his delivery of it. In fact, there are times that I have winced at his agressiveness and have shaken my head in disbelief at what comes out of his mouth. However, there is no denying the absolute dedication and passion that this man has for ensuring that everyone is educated about our Second Amendment rights and that they take those rights seriously. Uncle Ted (as my husband and I like to call him) has made me more receptive to the challenge we have before us in America today. It is not only criminals and terrorists that we battle against, it is other Americans themselves that seek to destroy our Constiution by diluting or denying our Second Amendment rights. I have no problem with him representing the many of us who believe in this God-given right and choose to enact it each day of our lives.

Chris sent me this link today, and as I watched it, found myself to be a sort of cheerleader on the inside. In his outspoken and unrefined way, Ted managed to strike a chord in me that resonated to my very core.

I have been blessed with an incredibly responsible, patriotic and loving husband who takes our constitutional rights very, very seriously and applies those rights to protecting our home and family every single day. I stand behind him and support him in his effort to provide an arsenal of protection for us and to ensure that we are all educated about it and each piece in it. My respect for his dedication to this endeavor grows each day.

I do not sit-in-wait to shoot someone. And while I hope that I never have to kill anyone with my firearm (or otherwise) in my home, you can be sure that no predator will have to second guess me as I pull the trigger and empty metal into his body and blow the smoke from my barrel afterward.

I Married the Man of My Dreams!!

If there is anything in this world better than marrying the love of my life, I couldn't tell you what it is. (editor note: the birth of my children excluded, of course.) Chris and I were married in a very beautiful ceremony that included a walk in the Princess-Diana-dress-to-end-all-dresses down the stairs to "There is Love (The Wedding Song)" by Paul Stookey. When our eyes met during the ceremony, we could not unlock them - we even forgot for a moment that we had an audience of family members! When the music started, I thought my heart would leap from my chest, I could barely breathe. Each step that brought me closer to my love, became a step closer to our eternity together. How I love him!

It was the most incredible experience and something I will remember the rest of my life. To be in love, then marry under covenant, then get to spend the rest of your life with your true love...well, it is inexplicable. I have never felt that way before, ever. Chris, my dream come true.

We spent the most amazing honeymoon in the lower Hill Country, Bluff Dale Texas, on a ranch that houses little cabins in the woods called The Hideaway Cabins. What a romantic getaway! Secluded little cabin, luxurious hot tub under a thick blanket of stars and a sweet little farm-raised breakfast made for one amazing honeymoon! Well, that and one man's incredible lovin'!! ; ) The Niedziela family owns this working Longhorn ranch, and they will make you feel right at home.

On the second day of our honeymoon we visited Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and let me tell ya, if you have never had wild deer eat from your hand, an ostrich poke his head in your car or a zebra you can reach out and touch, then you must pay a visit to this incredible place. We had so much fun driving through the preserve and seeing/feeding/talking to the animals that we really didn't want to leave. The drive is just long enough for you to take it all in, and there is a halfway area with a decent restaurant and gift shop.

After Fossil Rim, we went back to the cabin and relaxed (i.e. more hot tub!). The next moring we fished a little watering hole where I caught the only bass of the day and then we headed for our little place on Possum Kingdom Lake for more romance.

Oh yeah, and if you read Chris' blog, you will know that I bought a SWEET little Lady Smithy .38 Special that I just love!

I could not have asked nor planned nor prayed for a more perfect wedding and honeymoon.

"He who loves his wife loves himself. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." Eph. 5:28

Another Kudos to Ann

While reading her weekly blog, another kudos to Ann for her striking comparison of the right and wrong, I mean, left. I don't think this statement needs further ado.

"Liberals claim to be terrified that the Religious Right is going to take over the culture in a country where more than a million babies are exterminated every year, kindergarteners can be expelled from school for mentioning God, and Islamic fascists are welcomed on college campuses while speakers opposed to Islamic fascism are met with angry protests."

Not to mention the fact that 11 year olds can get birth control without parental permission.

God help us!

Goin' To The Chapel And....

...I'm gonna get married. YEA! Only 5 more days to go! I am so excited. You just have to know my Chris to even begin to fathom why I am so completely enthralled with him. If you happen upon his blog "Guns and Guts", you will find that he is a man of God, a Patriot of our country, and absolutely the most brilliant person I have ever known. He is a rare breed of character and integrity, with an amazingly deep love of family and his future wife (me!). I cannot bear to think of life without this man, the love of my life, my soulmate. I am blessed that God delivered him into my life and into the lives of my children. He is the leader of our home, our protector and provider, and I happily and willingly play a supportive, encouraging role in our relationship and in our spiritual lives. I couldn't be happier than to know that soon this amazing man will call me his wife. What an honor it will be.
